Super Falcons Won’t Leave Ghana Without AWCON Trophy

Super Falcons captain,Onome Ebi has assured Nigerians that she and her team mates will not return home from the ongoing 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana without the trophy after shot themselves back in contention with a 4-0 thrashing of Shepolopolo of Zambia on Wednesday in their second group B match.

A one goal defeat in their opening match against South Africa on Sunday had put Nigerians in doubt over Super Falcons of defending their African title they won in Cameroon 2016, but the Zambians could not hold a candle to the Falcons when the die was cast on Wednesday evening and got their campaign back on track.

The captain, who played all through each the 90 minutes against Banyana Banyana and Shepolopolo respectively, is now confident that Nigeria would retain the title for nineth times.

“I think we’ve motivated ourselves and we know why we are here and not here to lose but retain our title and qualify for the Women’s World Cup.”
