As FCT Football Association elections draws near, a contestant for a position on the board, Mr Mustapha Mubdiyu, has revealed his reasons why he want to be part of the board if elected.
Mubdiyu who spoke to new men during the screening exercise on Friday, stated that he was vying for this position is to see how he can contribute his own quota to the development of football in the FCT.
“Just as you must have all observed, there is basically no major city capital that does not have a premier league club, the FCT does not have one now.
With the way things are structured now, the FCT may not have one in the next 10, 15 years,” he said.
He further expressed his dissatisfaction at the level of sports development in the nation’s capital city.
“I will also push for sponsorship, I am not satisfied with level of sport development in FCT. That is why I am vying for board member to contribute my own quota. It’s not matter of no money, it’s about passion, and it’s about creating enabling environment for people.
“I am going to see how we can have a sponsorship drive by calling cooperate organization to come and sponsor our programmes.”
Mubdiyu further said provision of sporting facilities will be the starting point when elected on February 11, 2019.
“We should have all the facilities in the all the area council to develop the grassroots,” he concluded.
