The King of Kings Basketball Club said they are going all out to win this year’s edition of the Abuja City Basketball League.
The Lugbe based club has intensify preparation for the Federal Capital Territory games which dunked off yesterday at the Outdoor basketball court, Package B, National Stadium Abuja.
The club president, Etubi Haruna, who spoke to LEADERSHIP sports during the team’s novelty match with LG Kngs basketball team to celebrant 2019 International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, at the King of King International School in Lugbe, Abuja, opined that the team is fully ready to do their fans proud.
“We have been in camp for four weeks now because we are aiming to go higher. So that we can do our fans proud at the tournament,” he said.
“We have done some changes in our coaching crew and we are up to update on all the latest rule of the game in other to avoid any infringement during the games I can assure you that we are going for the title.”
According to the head coach of the team, Caleb Ogwuche vowed to spring out impressive performance with the quality of players the club will be parading in the league.
“With the level of preparations, the boys will go far and shock the rest of the teams. You know in the past, we did not have stable competitions where they boys can play but since the coming of Etubi, some of them have played in various tournaments including the league and they are active and fit” he said.
The King of King basketball club will seek to go past their 4th placed position in their last outing as they set to present 15 players who will be vying for glory against teams from Abuja and environs specifically from Niger and Nasarawa.
Abuja City Basketball League is an expository and foundational basketball league, which is the biggest developmental basketball league in Nigeria, is centered on developing young talents to feature on a bigger stage.
