Over 120 Kids To Participant In Abuja Champions Cup

No fewer than 120 kids will participate at the inaugural edition of the summer camp football tournament tagged “Abuja Champions Cup ‘.

The tournaments is expected to run from today to Friday, August 2nd 2019 in Abuja.

According to the Head Coach of Eagle’s Wings Football Academy, Inyang Pascal Clement who spoke to LEADERSHIP sports said the competitions is aimed at developing football at the grassroots for both urban and underprivileged children to unleash their football potentials.

“Now that the school is on holidays we are organizing U 13 Abuja Champions Cup for the kids especially for the urban and under privileges kids we are trying to expose them to the outer world of sports,” he said.

“For this maiden edition of the tournament over 120 kids will be made up of eight teams with a minimum of 13 players in a team and a coach”.

“ We want children to learn more when they play in a competitive ground, that is why we called all the coach together so we can unleash their sporting potentials towards becoming the next generation champions of the world in soccer” he added.

Clement also stated that the kids will be scouted by international renown scouts in which the best players will be invited for tryouts in European clubs.

“Scouts from international clubs will be coming to watch the kids play and possibly pick some of them to play in their feeders team in Europe.”

“The tournaments will be held twice a year and during holidays so as not to avert the children focus from their academic” he concluded.
