The Nigeria Rowing, Canoeing and Sailing Federation, has assured Nigerians of a successful outing at the 2019 All African Games in Rabat Morocco
Speaking to Sportswaka.com the Secretary general of the federation, Olubunmi Ola Oluode said that the federation has intensified preparation ahead of the 12th of the Games, adding that they will produce podium finish athletes at the African showpiece.
Oluode further stated that a total number of 16 athletes will be flying the country flag at Rabat which comprising of 8 male and 8 female for Rowing and Canoeing respectively.
“We are very optimistic of our athletes ahead of the All Africa Games both in the Rowing and canoeing sports” she said.
“From the beginning of the year we have exposed our athletes to world cup championship and other world champions programs that have given the us the required experience so far.
“Shortly before Morocco we have two of our athletes that will be going to hungry for Olympic qualification for the world championship level which they will join also us to Morocco by giving us a better performance.”
“We also have athletes that will be participating at world Rowing championship in Australia which is also a qualification to the Olympic.”
According to her “We want to thank the sports ministry in keeping the athletes in close camp and for giving us the standard Olympic facilities at the Jabi lake in Abuja”
“We are very positive that our performance will be very beautiful” she concluded.
The 12th African Games will take place from August 24th to September 3rd, 2019 in Rabat, Morocco.
