The President Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Engineer Musa Nimrod yesterday donated 5 indoor volleyballs, 2 beach volleyballs and a net to each of the North West States as part of efforts to encourage the game of volleyball at the grassroots level.
Engineer Nimrod while making the presentation at the media centre of Ahmadu Bello stadium venue of the ongoing Zonal elimination for team events preparatory to the National Youth Games (NYG) scheduled for Ilorin Kwara state, urged the various representatives of the state to encourage the game of volleyball in their respective States.
He expressed satisfaction with the way and manner the game of volleyball is progressing in the country and with Nigeria teams making the country proud in international competitions.
As a Federation, he assured of continued supports to States so as ensure that every state has a formidable volleyball team capable of making the country proud any day anytime.
He also noted that ahead of the National Youth games he will always support the Ministry and also assist the technical Officials while stressing that monitoring of the programme as the major challenge facing volleyball in the country.
Responding in appreciation, the Zonal Coordinator Northwest zone, Mr Olusola Luke commended the NVBF President for his continued supports to the Zone and numerous financial and moral support for sports development within the zone and the country at large.
He prayed to God to continue to bless his efforts now and always.
He urged the representatives of the States who benefited from Engineer Nimrods magnanimity to make judicious use of the items to develop the game of volleyball in their States.
