The Minister of youth and sports development, Sunday Dare has urged Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets to consolidate on their victory in their first match at the ongoing U17 World Cup and make Nigeria proud when they clash against Ecuadorian side today.
The Minister while expressing confidence in the team’s ability to perform well, said, “I urge the Golden Eaglets to give their heart and soul to the game. It is a crucial encounter with Ecuador no doubt, but Nigerians are confident in their skills and determination.”
Dare commended the team for coming back stronger in their 4-2 victory over Hungary on Saturday, adding that Nigerians him and aboard will be rooting for them.
“They must come to the game with a sense of purpose and professionalism and the kind of optimum performance and precision football that saw them overcome the onslaught of the Hungarians”.
“The Nigerian can do spirit again comes on display and the brilliance of our youth football is there for the world to see”, he added.
Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will today take on Ecuador in their second match of the Under-17 FIFA World Cup.
