Defending champions, Nigerian Custom Service ( NCS) humbled UCEM 3-0 to continue their winning streak at the ongoing Nigeria Volleyball Premier.
Customs defeated UCEM in three straight set (25-23, 25-17, 25-16) in the men’s match played at the Moshood Abiola Package B stadium In Abuja yesterday.
Nigeria Customs Service dominated the proceedings in the opening stages of the encounter as their services was to heavy for the UCEM who fought back but it was little to late as they ends he first set 25-23 in favor of Customs.
In the second set, Customs came out smoking hot beating UCEM 25- 17 points all thanks to Isaac Geofrey, spikes and blocks, as the went on to also to claimed the third set by 25-17points to make it three wins in three games.
Captain of the Nigeria Customs Service, Isaac Geofrey, reaffirmed their commitment to retain their title adding that will be put up an impressive performance when they battle with another title contenders Nigeria Police Force later today.
“We have been working hard to make sure we retain our title, we played to the our coaches instruction and that is what have given us the victory” he said.
“We aware of the threats from the Nigeria Police Force but we are no scare of them we are going to do what we know how to best when play them tomorrow (today), we are just looking for three more point to be crown the champions again so that is what we are going out for”he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) suffered their third defeats in the hands of Kano Pillars 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-23) in the first match of Day 5.
Also, Nigeria Police Force easy past Nigeria Immigration Service 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-22) to put themselves in contention for the title.
