Kebbi Wins Maiden Abuja Beach Soccer Tourney

Kebbi Beach team thrashed Team FCT 8-4 to emerged winners of the 2020 Abuja maiden Beach Soccer tournament.

The grand finale of the maiden edition of the Abuja Beach soccer tournament was decided yesterday at the Jabi Lake in Abuja.

Both team booked their place in the finals after winning their first two matches as the Kebbi beach team who are tournament favorites did not disappoint their fans to take home the ultimate prize.

In the opening stages of the game, African Club beach Soccer champions, Kebbi  hammer Team FCT 5-1.

Team FCT came in the second period more determine but they could draw the game 2-2 (7-3)

An interesting last 10 minutes which saw the FCT team heaping more pressure on the visitor but the Kebbi side kept their head ups to end in 1-1 draw (8-4).

Highlights of the tournament was the presentation to the most valuable players  of the tournament to Kebbi Beach Soccer club star Hammed Kareem  while Emeka Ogbonna from Kwara Beach Soccer team emerged the highest goal scorer with 11 goals.

Badagry BSC 7-4 to pick the third place prize in grand style after winning one match from three games.

Speaking after the final match, the FCT football Assocation chariman, Mohammed Adam Mouktar promised to  to replicate  Beach Soccer tournament  in all the six areas councils.

“We have learnt a lot from the tournament and we going to replicate what we have seen here on all the  six areas councils to get best players in the game for future competitions”.

“Team FCT did well because the team was just assembled just two week before the tournament and they came second among the best team in Nigeria it show that we have a great potentials in the game”.
