The Bauchi State Football Assocation (BSFA)have joined millions of Nigeria across the world in mourning the death of assistant captain of Remo Stars Football Club, Tiamiyu Kazeem who died yesterday at Orile Imo area along Sagamu – Abeokuta expressway in Ogun State.
According to the Chairman of Bauchi State FA, Patrick Pascal, MON, who described the death of the footballer as a great loss to Remo Stars family,the Ogun State Football Association led by Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi and the entire football fraternity.
“We are particularly sad about the reported circumstances of the player’s death, as attested to by a team mate who was with him at the time, to the effect that he was arrested by officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on the claim of wearing military apparel, and was pushed down from a moving vehicle before being crushed by another vehicle”.
“We at the Bauchi state FA and all the stakeholders in the state have joined millions of Nigerians to mourn the untimely death of a promising young star, we pray that God will grant you the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss” he said.
“We stand with the entire family of Ogun State Football Association, immediate family, extended family and friends of the departed players at this trying moment we pray that God will grant the departed Tiamiyu Kazeem eternal rest.”
The Bauchi state FA boss who doubles as the Super Eagles Cordinator further called on the Nigerian Police to launch an intensive investigation of the matter in order to bring the perpetrators to book so as to avert future occurrence.
“We are calling on the Nigerian Police Force to look into what happen that led to the death Kazeen, we don’t want it to happen to anybody again and we also want the inspector general of Police to ensure that the perpetrators of this evil act be brought to book immediately” he concluded.
