The management and players of Air Warriors of Abuja has call for financial support for ailing basketball rising star Deborah Onah who is currently battling Tuberculosis of the spine.
The 2019 National Women’s Basketball League champions led by the club Chairman, Abdulmajid Solademi paid her a visit at the Primus Hospital in Abuja on Wednesday.
Solademi who after donated for her medical bill and prayed called on the government and well meaning Nigerians to rally support for 16 year old Onah.
“Her present condition needs urgent attention, we want the government, private organizations and individuals to rally support for Deborah” he said.
“We know that she’s a promising basketball player and we want her to get to her fit again and use the game to support her parents”.
Responding to the kind gesture by Air Warriors, the Deborah’s parent, Mr John Onah and his wife Felicia thanked the Warriors for their support while calling on Nigerians come to the teenager aid.
“We grateful to Nigerians for coming to our aid. For those who sent financial and moral support, we can’t thank you enough. But this is just the beginning of our journey”.
“I’m begging Nigerians to please assist us more. We need more money to deposit for the drugs and the surgery which will be performed after all tests and investigations. They haven’t told us what the entire treatment will cost but they are just taking it one stage at a time. Please come to our aid and save the life of my daughter”.
According to information gathered, series of tests have been carried out with results expected on On Thursday after which the financial implication for treatment and rehabilitation will be ascertained.
