Nationwide League One (NLO) side Udala FC of Anambra state, has unveiled Folabi Ojekunle as the new head coach ahead of the start of the league season.
Ojekunle who was introduced to newsman on Wednesday was trained in England and possesses Nigeria Institute of Sports coaching certificate and also got UEFA B-Licence in 2017.
Ojekunle said he settled Udala FC because of had deep grassroots reach and were progress-oriented philosophy, adding that his hope that he will be the first to lead the Uke based club to the continent.
“Am happy to be here, my aim is to retain the Anambra Independent Football league (AIFL) am confident that we will finish top of the table and gain promotion to Nigeria National League and also make our mark in this Aiteo Cup finals”.
Recall that, Ojekunle had managed the defunct Jegede Babes, ABS FC of Ilorin and some Youth trams in England before clinching his new job at Udala.
It would be noted that five new players were also unveiled at the ceremony; they include Clinton Omonedo, Tope Kintolu, Olawale Ajetunmobi, Okoh Friday and Bahkra Casiasse a goalkeeper from Olympic FC of Burkina Faso.
According to the club general manager, Henry Chinye assured that the club would continue to contribute to the development of Nigerian football by adopting best international practices in spite of being an amateur side.
Chinye said the welfare of staff of the club, as well as their medical care, would remain paramount to the management.
He expressed optimism that the new injections into the manpower pool of the club would result in better fortune to Udala FC.
