Nigerian youth international goalkeeper, Matthew Yakubu, was out of this world in SKF Sered’s thumping of FK Senica with multiple crucial saves in the Slovakian first division league game.
The action-packed midweek clash saw SKF Sered humiliate FK Senica by 4-0 at home.
Matthew Yakubu also nicknamed ‘Siasia(Son of Grace)’ stole the show with some pieces of brilliant saves, denying his opponents the opportunity to smell the back of the posts, to the loud commendations of his teammates and coaching crew.
The tall Goalkeeper who models Cameroonian and Ajax Amsterdam of Holland’s goalkeeper, Andre’ Onana, while expressing delight, went into self-praising, describing his first league appearance for his team this season as historic.
“Even though I am doing my job, matches like this helps me and my team to improve
“Personally, I feel so happy for my performance and the victory that we obtained today because everyone played well. It was my first outing and only the second game for us this season – keeping a clean sheet is historic for me.”
Speaking about the opponents’ performance, the 21-year-old Goalkeeper who joined his Central-European club, SKF Sered, on a three year-deal, stated that they are a very difficult side.
“We already knew it was going to be a difficult match. They have so many quality players and also had lots of chances. But we played better as a team than they did, and in the end the result was 4-0 in our favour which has earned us a really vital win”, Matthew Yakubu continued.
Matthew Yakubu kept for Team Nigeria Football at the 2019 All Africa Games in Morocco and more of such stellar performance from him for his Slovakian club in their subsequent games, however, should surely impress handlers of Nigeria National teams to consider him worthy of invitation in the nearest future.
