Niger To Host 2020 Emirs Cup

Following the federal government pronouncements on the resumption of football activities across the country, the Federation of Youth Soccer Clubs (FEYSOC) have concluded arrangement to host the next edition of Emirs cup in Niger state.

The tournament which is named after the Emir of Lapai ìn the state is Christened the Umar Bago Cup and it will only be organised for youth football club sides within the emirate.

The Exeutive Secretary of FEYSOC comrade A S Luya, disclosed this at the weekend after meeting with the emir at his palace were he said they had come to the emir to receive endorsement for the tournament which according to him has been granted. 

Though he said this year edition would be the second as the first edition was held last year were the winners got a ticket to represent the country in the annual Togo youth soccer clubs competition. 

He said FEYSOC is doing everything possible to ensure that all the participating team comply with the COVID 19 protocol and all other safety measures as put in place by the federal government. 

” We are doing everything possible to work within the framework of the COVID 19 guidelines for the protection and safety of our players both in the field and outside the pitch ‘.

He then called on all the participating team and the stakeholders in the game of football to give their support to the tournament because it is an avenue for discovering new talent.
