Arsenal Thrash West Brom, Send Warning To Man City

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal made short work of West Bromwich Albion with a 6-0 win in the second round of the Carabao Cup at the Hawthorns on Wednesday night.

Arsenal, who have stumbled out of the gates in their first two Premier League games, took the lead before 20 minutes when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang redirected a rebound into the back of the net from close range.

Arsenal hit back-to-back goals before the half with Aubameyang scoring his second and Nicholas Pepe tapping in at the far post to take a 3-0 lead into the break and effectively put the tie to bed.

Bukayo Sako added to Arsenal’s lead soon after the restart when he ran on to a clever flick from Martin Odegaard and blasted a first-time shot past West Brom keeper Alex Palmer to make it 4-0.

Aubameyang completed his hat trick with a curled in beauty and substitute Alexandre Lacazette, returning from injury, netted from a Saka cutback to put the Gunners six up all before 70 minutes.

Arsenal return to action this weekend looking for their first Premier League win with an away match against Manchester City.
