Head Coach of Gombe United Coach Aliyu Zubair, has declared that he will not be leaving his position despite having qualified the Savannah Scorpion back to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with their results from the Nigeria National League Super 8 Playoff in Enugu.
The Soft-spoken coach who was one time assistance coach of the current NPFL Champions Akwa United when they won the Aiteo Cup in 2017 stated it clearly while speaking on NCBN 106.7FM Radio program Naija Football show said the stability of the team is the first priority since they are back to the NPFL and that he is why he has decided to continue with the team for another footballing season.
“Definitely, I have made up my mind to stay with Gombe United for another 1-year contract, I can`t qualify them and leave them just like that, so I will work with the management”.
The Ilorin born tactician also maintained that as the current transfer window is currently on for the NPFL season, he and his technical team will go all out to get players that will help the team to achieve more success for the club.
He therefore appreciated the Governor of Gombe state His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the support given to the team, the management of Gombe United and the footballing people of Gombe State.
